Everything grows better in the garden, and I don't just mean the vegetables: your kids, your family, your relationships. Its completely quiet out there with the exception of the critter noise. For me, there is no better place to pray. God knew I needed this big beast of a garden this year, and the hard work and the joys that come with it. I imagine there are a lot of folks in Michigan this year who could use it to. Whether its coming up for an afternoon and picking the produce, weeding the vegetables, picking out your pumpkin with the kids in the fall, or just sitting down to a nice meal with vegetables and produce that you know were grown in real dirt, with real love, just for your family - being part of the CSA will have a positive impact on you and those you love.

We do not require a work commitment as part of our CSA, because so many of our existing customers are from the Rochester area, which is over an hour and a half from our farm. I want for everyone to have opportunity to enjoy the chance to reap the benefits of organically grown (not certified), truly fresh fare at their table this summer and well into fall. Although a work commitment is not required, we encourage our customers to come up and take part in the gardening experience with our family, and theirs, as well as with their neighbors. We are always open to visitors.

We offer a full CSA share (minimum of 16 weeks) for $600 ($37.50 per week - You would have a difficult time trying to pick up a bushel of produce in the grocery for under $40 - especially when regular (not organic)tomatoes last season were over $3 per lb. and onions are up to $1.49/lb)- this includes a bushel sized weekly box which is well suited for family of 4-6. Pick up at the farm or one of our drop offs between here and Farmington. A half share box is also available for $385 ($24 per week), and is also a bushel in size; however, instead of weekly pick up they are picked up every other week. You can also choose to receive half a bushel weekly instead. The half share box is adequate for a family of 1-3.

If you need home delivery for your share it can be arranged. It will be an additional $75 annually to drop the box right at your door throughout most of our service area (if you live in the Farmington/Birmingham area it is $100 for the season).

In addition to our 2 standard CSA shares, we also offer a senior box, which is at least half a bushel in size, and picked up or delivered each week. This is available to our senior customers over age 65 in our coverage area between Silverwood and Rochester - this includes but is not limited to North Branch, Lapeer, Millington, Birch Run, Frankenmuth, Oxford, Dryden, Metamora, Lake Orion, Oakland TWP, Rochester, Rochester Hills, Caro, and Farmington.

Price for the senior share box is $300 and home delivery is included within the area we cover. The price on the senior share never goes up. My grandparents played a huge role in my upbringing and it is important to me that our program be affordable to area seniors. Tell your neighbors!

We also just purchased a small flock of isa brown laying pullets and will be offering egg shares to our subscribers (they will only be available to the public if we do not sell out to the CSA members). These will be large to extra large brown eggs layed by truly pastured free range chickens. Free range eggs, which are all but impossible to get in the store are by far the most nutritious on the market. Pricing is as follows: CSA Egg shares: 1 dozen weekly X 16 weeks - $50 2 dozen weekly X 16 weeks - $95 Egg Shares alone: 1 dozen weekly X 16 weeks - $60 2 dozen weekly X 16 weeks - $105

CSA shares make wonderful gifts for friends and family members who could use a little lift. If you have a son or daughter who is struggling to make ends meet, its an excellent way to ensure your grandchildren are getting the nutrition that they need to stay strong and healthy in a downturned economy. The senior share is also great for those of you who would like to let your elderly parents know you are thinking about them each week. These beautiful weekly baskets are especially meaningful to the older folks who used to have beautiful gardens, but are unable to maintain them any longer.

****ALSO PLEASE FILL IN THE CONTACT FORM AS COMPLETELY AS POSSIBLE WHEN CONTACTING US AT THE FARM.****

Please keep in mind that the earlier you sign up the cheaper the rate. As we get closer to delivery season the rate increases slightly. This is because most of the expense of maintaining the garden takes place between February and April, so early sign up is helpful and encouraged. The next rate increase takes place on May 15th. At that time, the half share rate will be $385 and the full share rate goes up to $600.

Some of the items included in our CSA are: over 20 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, at least 10 varieties of pepper (both sweet and hot included), green beans, noodle beans, zucchini (3 varieties), acorn squash, butternut squash, hubbard squash, scallop squash, swiss chard, european melons, 3 varieties of eggplant, watermelon (4 varieties), honey rock cantaloupe, sweet corn, cabbage, carrots, radishes, lettuce, spinach, greens, brocolli, cauliflower (3 colors), brussel sprouts parsnips, onions, potatoes (red, yellow, and blue), sweet potatoes, dragon tongue beans, 4 varieties of cucumber, beets, turnips, spaghetti squash, and a wide variety of fresh herbs (basil, oregano, sage, cilantro, thyme, rosemary, mints, and many more)

In addition to the vegetable share you, as a member of the CSA, also receive a discount on all farm purchases, including our grass fed pork, lamb and poultry, and our sheep's milk soaps and lotions!!

Human life is like grass.  We grow like a flower in the field.  After the wind blows, the flower is gone.  There is no sign of where it was.  But the Lord's love for those who fear him continues forever and ever.  And his goodness continues to their grandchildren and to those who keep his agreement and who remember to obey his commands.
