We feel, above all, that we have been tremendously blessed in all things that really matter. Our family ..our farm, is what it is first and foremost because of the God we serve, who has brought us together. As a couple, we remain very much in love with each other. We have shared over a decade of joys and hardships, and through everything we have grown closer and more convinced that whatever life has in store, good and bad, we are meant to face it together. Along the way, we have been given 4 incredible children who enrich our lives in ways we never could have imagined. And how very fortunate we are, that each morning we get to step out onto the soil and smell the fresh grass and listen to the sounds of a farm in harmony.

My husband has run his own lawn and landscape business down in the Rochester area for the last 6 years. While it was a good and enjoyable job, it wasn't what either of us were looking for. We look around and see a world full of folks who have lost sight of the things that matter most. Everyone seems to be scrambling in different directions and putting in longer hours. We did it, and it just seemed like the more hours we put in, the farther away were were getting from what we really wanted and what we valued the most. So instead of resolving ourselves to a situation we couldn't find peace in ...we decided to go a different direction. We already had the dogs, which we love, and are such an intricate part of our family. I began doing some research on pasture farming trying to determine how we could best utilize the 10 acres we have up here. Last summer, I purchased 300 day old chicks and 25 turkeys...and the hobby farm bug had bit. It was a lot of fun, and we could all work together, and there were no more missed moments between us and our children. It was like God opened our eyes to what our family life could and should be like, so we began to look at ways to expand what we were doing here on the farm, and to shrink what we were doing away from our family. Then came the pigs... At the end of the summer last year, we decided we should move into something else. We looked at cows, goats, sheep, and finally pigs. I am still not sure what my fascination was with the hogs, but I have to believe I was led in that direction by God...and probably if I am completely honest - a bit by my love of bacon. They have been a fabulous fit here. The two breeds of pasture pigs we raise, the tamworths and the large blacks, are not your typical swine. They are extremely friendly and docile, even at massive size. They seek out human companionship much like the dogs do, and lean their large heads softly on your side when you are out with them, seeking their daily scratches. We love them all, and will probably always have both breeds. We love variety, and once you start eating natural fresh pasture raised food, its difficult to settle for anything else, so we are always adding new things. This year we are adding Icelandic sheep and Icelandic chickens, as well as muscovy ducks to the list of things we will be offering fresh from the farm. If you have something you have been looking to try and haven't been able to find please contact us..I am always open to new ideas to better serve the needs of our customers.

We raise all of our livestock free of hormones and antibiotics!

So these three things continue forever: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.
